STP Devotional for the Week of 12/1/25

Hi! My name is Mikayla Schneider. I’ve been at STP for three years and this is my first year TTAing. When Mrs. Pam asked me to do the TTA takeover I was super excited- and a little overwhelmed! But, if there’s anything I’ve learned this season in the class I’m TTAing and the TTA show, it’s that my strength comes from God and that is enough. So I Iay this takeover at the feet of Jesus, trusting that He will use it for the glory of the Father, according to His will.

When I first sat down to write this I thought I’d go back to some of the Bible verses that spoke to me during Around the World in 80 Days, the TTA show, and I landed here, in Romans 8:26 & 28:

In the same way, the Spirit too comes to the aid of our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we ought, but the Spirit itself intercedes with inexpressible groanings.

And,

We know that all things work for good for those who love God.

These verses have taught me so much. Our necessity to rely on God really is a beautiful thing! These verses are a wonderful reminder that we can do nothing without Him, but goes on to say that with His help we will not fail. It’s such a message of hope. As these words have echoed in my heart, they’ve reminded me to call on the Holy Spirit to teach me to pray well. They’ve strengthened me and reassured me when I was memorizing lines and working on character development during 80 Days. The Holy Spirit also used them to remind me that, if we let Him, He is the one who speaks from the stage through us. In addition, He used these words to encourage me and assure me that I was capable of TTAing the Christmas Class and being in charge of props.

With these verses in mind, and the knowledge of my true Christian identity of beloved daughter of the King, I have needed only to entrust my projects or concerns to the Lord and have faith that whatever I do will be for His glory. In this way He has liberated me and shown me that I am enough. He’s shown me that He created me to be capable of completing whatever He has led me to begin. I was created in His image and likeness and I have faith in myself because I first have faith in Him!

And this brings me to the Show. In It’s a Wonderful Life, George Bailey’s life doesn’t go the way he expected or ever wanted it to. It ends up that on Christmas Eve every thing that can go wrong does, and George is about ready to give up. He needs to remember that he is a beloved son of the King. He needs to know that the Holy Spirit is there in his trials, longing to love and strengthen him. He needs to know that he is enough. That God has made him capable of handling his trials, as long as he offers them up. But George tends to be a bit headstrong, like many of us at times, and it might just take an angel to shake him up and show him that he has a wonderful life! Will he be able to trust God’s plan before it’s too late? You’ll have to come see the show to find out! Thank you all and I pray that you can lean on the Holy Spirit and know that He loves you and trust that He is working through you each and every day! I’d like to finish with these words of Jesus:

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

Amen! (Also, if you ever need help in discerning the Holy Spirit in your life or just need guidance or prayer, you can always come to me or any of your TTAs and we would love to pray with you and walk with you!)
