STP Devotional for the Week of 04/20/26
Hi everyone, my name is Elisha and I'm a TTA for the Monday 14 to 18 class and our show Curtain in 5 performs this week.

The show follows Henry and Jules as they navigate the last 4 days before the show they have been working on for their school. While they are preparing, their lives outside of the show start to feel like they’re falling apart. If you want to see what their circumstances are, please come to the show!
This does beg the question - when our lives feel like they are falling apart where is God? Well, in the Bible it says in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4 NIV
[3] Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, [4] who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
So, we see here that our God is the God of comfort. This verse isn't saying that God is comfortable like a nice chair, but that when life gets hard, He's there for us and listens to all of our cares and concerns. The Bible also says in Matthew 11:28-30 NIV
[28] “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. [29] Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. [30] For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Jesus says to come to Him, and you will find rest. This is a great thing to think about because when things come up in life, just knowing that you can turn to Jesus is a great relief. If you will note that it says will, not maybe, or if you do everything right, but you WILL find rest in your soul. All of this means that when life goes off the rails and everything feels like it's coming apart instead of letting circumstances overcome you and dictate your life turn to God and He WILL comfort you and give you rest.
In conclusion I hope to see all of you at our show and I pray that the story we are sharing touches each of you like it has those of us who have been working on it.
