Classes are starting up soon for the 2010-2011 season! We offer classes September through May for ages 8 and up. The classes are held at the CYT Building in Angier, NC.

    No child has to audition to be part of CYT, although they will
    audition in class for their part in a class production. With
    God as our central focus, we begin with prayer and a
    devotional that correlates a Biblical concept to a theatre 
    concept that we may be working on. Each class is one hour
    and thirty minutes, and includes skits, sketches,
    improvisations, role-play, and various other activities.

Auditions within class are in various different months for different classes (contact us for more info). They are primarily for training purposes and for casting the upcoming productions. Students will select a song and lines on their own. 8-12 and Wednesday classes perform only for the auditioning committee, while the 13-Up classes usually perform in front of the entire class.

In November, we begin preparing Christmas skits for all classes, and some years a Madrigal show (older students).

As the New Year starts, we focus on the upcoming productions. This includes stage direction, character building, projection, choreography, and of course, singing, since all of our productions are musicals.

Keep in mind that we take into consideration the ages of the children and will work with them accordingly. Dates of the productions will vary and you will be made aware of these dates well in advance.

There are three costs associated with the classes. There is a $60 non-refundable registration fee and a tuition fee of $60 per month per child for the duration of the class. Additionally, there is a fee collected in August for costumes, scripts, and devotions. This amount is $75.00. For details on the fees, please contact us.
 

Major Musicals

Special Events

At Christmas we sometimes do a special Christmas celebration - either a Christian version of "A Christmas Carol" or "A Christmas Madrigal." Contact us for more information.
